Our Story

Hello there, my name is Katarina...

...this company and online store has been a dream of mine for a very long time. Like many entrepreneurs, I started with nothing but an idea, and had to work very hard to get here. As my idea and my dream grew, I continued to work a full-time job, while I devoted myself to learning more about naturally produced food supplements and superfoods. It was enthralling to learn about how a simple change in diet could change lives.

I combined my passion for Latin America with my natural curiosity at how to be healthier and eat healthier and found out that there are so many plants from this part of the world that have amazing health benefits.

Camu camu is rich in vitamin C

Vitamin C plays many important roles in your body. For example, it helps strengthen your immune system and is needed for the formation of collagen, a protein that supports your skin, bones, and muscles.

Collagen

Collagen is a type of protein. In fact, it’s the most abundant structural protein in animals. A structural protein is one that makes up the structure or framework of your cells and tissues. It is found in connective tissue, skin, tendons, bones, and cartilage. It provides structural support to tissues and plays important roles in cellular processes.

Aguaje

Aguaje is best known for its high amounts of phytoestrogen.  You might have already heard about the many female health benefits of phytoestrogens, such as; Fighting PMS, Alleviating menopause symptoms, Preventing osteoporosis, Preventing certain types of cancers, Helping with weight loss & Boosting libido.

Eventually I began to think that it might be a good idea to start sharing what I learned with more people. I was hoping that there were other individuals in the world that were interested in the health benefits of specific foods, and how they could improve their lives.

This is where the inspiration for my company, Costa Verde, came from.

Since I started this business as a very busy individual, my thought was that there may be others out there who have an interest in health, but don’t have much time to prepare nutritious food.

This is what inspired me to start combining ingredients into powders and supplements that could be easily consumed without extra time to cook a well-balanced meal.

Our food supplements help provide nutrients that we may not get very much with a fast-food diet.

Aguaje, the curvyfruit & natural Vitamin A

Native to the Amazon rainforest, where it has been cultivated and consumed long before the arrival of the first Europeans to the New World, the aguaje, also known as buriti and curvy fruit, provides great nutritional value. Despite its local popularity, Aguaje is not well-known outside of South America. 

 

AGUAJE is RICH in:

  • Beta Carotene (provitamin A, natural RETINOL) 20x than carrot.
  • Vitamin E  25x more than avocado.
  • Vitamin C same as an orange
  • HIGH IN FIBRE
  • RICH IN PHYTOESTROGENS


Did you know?

Carotenoids (particularly beta-carotene) are transformed by the body in vitamin A, essential for the production of collagen, which promote tissue regeneration, thus preventing visible skin aging, and elastin, a tissue protein critical to the elasticity and resilience of large arteries, lungs, ligaments, tendons, skin tissue, and cartilages.




Aguaje is a significant source of vitamin A (natural RETINOL), which is an antioxidant that has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to maintain healthy skin while protecting against vision loss. The fruits are also an excellent source of vitamin C, another antioxidant that can strengthen the immune system and large amounts of vitamin E to protect against free radicals. In addition to antioxidants, Aguaje contains phytoestrogens and oleic acids.
Additionally, aguaje provides good amounts of vitamin B2 (riboflavin), as well as adequate levels of calcium, iron, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese. 


The moriche palm fruit also has been given the moniker of "curvy fruit," due to phytoestrogens content. Plant phytoestrogens may have ability to enhance the female figure and curves ; however, this popular claim is yet to be proven by science. 

How to take the Aguaje capsules?

It is recommended to consume 2 capsules after a meal, 6 per day.

No side effects have been reported due to aguaje consumption. However, the mechanisms of action of the mororiche palm fruit are still under investigation, and it is recommended to consume it in moderation. 

Care should be taken not to exceed the intake of pro-vitamin A supplements, since it can conduce to hipervitaminosis, which causes itchy, dry and rough skin, as well as lethargy, anorexia, and weight loss, among other symptoms.

Very happy with the blender

Received the item quickly.
Was a bit disappointed it didn't have the tropical leaves on but it is still very pretty.
I had a problem charging it one day and making it work so I contacted customer service and they have been very helpful since then.
We fixed the problem and it is all good.

Actually works really well...
